Kyndryl transforms SOC for Malaysia’s LifeTech Group

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, February 27, 2025 — Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, today announced it entered into an agreement with LifeTech Group (LifeTech), Southeast Asia’s leading managed cybersecurity services provider based in Malaysia, to establish the first in-country Security Operations Center (SOC) on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Malaysia. LifeTech chose Kyndryl to support its next-generation SOC and enable enterprises across Malaysia to keep their data secure and in the country on AWS while reducing the cost of security operations by up to 40%. This collaboration also elevates LifeTech’s cybersecurity capabilities to help customers assess and benchmark cyber resilience maturity, address emerging threats, gain greater visibility into vulnerabilities and meet Bank Negara Malaysia’s (the Central Bank of Malaysia) compliance requirements for data residency.

LifeTech has been a pioneer in Managed Cyber Security Services in Malaysia since 1989, serving a broad spectrum of industries in the region, including financial services, healthcare, government, manufacturing, e-commerce, retail, telecommunications and education. In addition to the SOC transformation project, Kyndyl is partnering with LifeTech to deliver essential cybersecurity services, including threat intelligence, incident response, and managed detection and response.

The innovative security operations transformation program with Kyndryl will include:

• A shift from foundational security operational needs to advanced capabilities like proactive risk mitigation planning, perception management, skills uplift and continuous improvement.

• Zero Trust Services to safeguard critical business assets through identity, endpoint and cloud security solutions.
• Advanced detection, response capabilities, automation and incident forensics.
• Security Operations as a Platform: Unified visibility and control across IT environments through tools like SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation and Response), designed to improve incident response, reduce risk and enhance operational efficiency.
