With a vision entirely projected towards the future, Also this year Rome Capital will be present at the Mipim in Cannes: Marché international des professionnels de l’immobilie, that It starts today and will continue until March 14th, it is the unmissable event for all the main decision makers in the sector: between developers, investors, territories, development agencies, local administrations, investment funds, construction and service companies we are talking about a kermesse with over 2.400 exhibitors from more than 80 countries that offers a privileged ecosystem in which operators can meet, develop investment projects, raise funding and start collaborations.
“Last year we returned to Cannes after a long absence to present a city in full transformation, today many of those projects have become reality or are becoming so: squares, streets, parks, redeveloped and renovated infrastructures. Rome has returned to the center of international interest and we therefore want to give continuity to a new season of urban regeneration by telling investors about the many opportunities that are opening up to mend the territories and build an increasingly inclusive, modern and sustainable city” explained the Mayor Roberto Gualtieri.
The claim that will characterize the presence of Rome, in line with what was explained by the Mayor himself during his third Report to the City in November, will be “Rome, open to the future” and has the aim of giving continuity to the narrative begun with “Transforming Rome”. At Mipim 2024, Rome had described the impressive redevelopment, regeneration and development plan implemented by the Gualtieri Administration to transform the Capital of Italy into a more welcoming, more sustainable, more efficient city in which it is easier and more convenient to invest.
With “Rome, open to the future” the Capital wants to tell the new phase of openness to the future that the city is experiencing, both from the point of view of the interventions and works completed and inaugurated (or that will be in the coming months) and as a method of dialogue, collaboration and cooperation with investors.
Rome is today a city that is growing in terms of real estate investments, both in the residential and hospitality sectors. According to some estimates, Rome accounted for 17% of all professional real estate investments in Italy last year, compared to an average of 11% in the period 2020-2024, and professional investors invested 1,7 billion euros in 2024, double compared to 2023. These data confirm the credibility of the new strategic vision implemented by the Capitoline Administration, especially on the front of urban regeneration for the redevelopment of existing building stock and a new concept of real estate product that must have a mix of functions and allow modularity and adaptability according to market needs.
The “Roma, open to the future” stand, created with the organizational support of Risorse per Roma Spa and in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of Rome and the province and several national and international businesses, will be a modern and innovative space, designed to represent this “opening” phase of Rome: at the entrance of its 200 square meters (double compared to 2024) there will be a luminous portal that will lead to the exhibition space set up with a 9×2,5m LED wall that will act as a backdrop and offer a semi-immersive experience. The space will host a rich calendar of meetings, talks and workshops during which, in addition to Mayor Gualtieri, Councilor Veloccia and Councilor Zevi, representatives of national and international associations, companies and investors, leaders in the real estate sector, will alternate.
To present the building redevelopment projects, approved or in the process of being approved, the prototype of a real Digital Twin of the city will also be presented, which the Department of Urban Planning is working on in collaboration with Esri Italia and ACCA Software. The prototype will represent the Bins (Building Information Modeling) of the main urban planning programs, integrated with the current master plan and with all the services related to the different redevelopment areas.
The program of meetings that will be held at the stand will open today at 16.30:15 pm with the workshop Rome is restarted, which will be attended by the Councilor for Urban Planning and the 13-minute city, Maurizio Veloccia; tomorrow, Wednesday 10 March, at 14.30 am there will be the meeting Strategy and vision of development of the city, which will see the participation of the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, and, at XNUMX:XNUMX pm, the workshop Affordable housing with the Councilor for Heritage and housing policies, Tobia Zevi.
The detailed calendar with all speakers will be available on Rome Capital portal, in the section dedicated to Mipim.
